Ibinida sa Regional Science Technology and Innovation Week (RSTW) ng Caraga region ang iba’t-ibang teknolohiyang produkto ng Department of Science and Technology (DOST).

Ang mga teknolohiyang ito ay inialok sa mga local investors, mga negosyante, at maging sa mga lokal na pamahalaan sa rehiyon sa isang forum na inorganisa ng DOST-XIII, bilang parte ng selebrasyon ng 2024 RSTW.

Ang forum na kung saan ibinahagi ang iba’t-ibang teknolohiyang pang komersyal ay binubuo ng mga talakayan mula sa iba’t-ibang ahensya ng DOST gaya ng DOST-Industrial Technology Development Institute (DOST-ITDI), DOST-Advanced Science and Technology Institute (DOST-ASTI), DOST-Metals Industry Research and Development Center (DOST-MIRDC), DOST-Philippine Nuclear Research Institute (DOST-PNRI), DOST-Philippine Council for Health Research and Development (DOST-PCRHD), DOST-Philippine Council for Agriculture, Aquatic and Natural Resources Research and Development (DOST-PCAARRD), at ng DOST-Forest Products Research Development Institute (DOST-FPRDI).

“Today, we gather to celebrate innovation, foster collaboration, and explore the vast potential of these advancements in transforming our society, especially Caraga region. The primary aim is to promote the adoption of the technologies by showcasing their practical applications and benefits. By doing so, we can integrate these innovations into various industries enhancing productivity and driving economic growth”, saad ni Mary Grace T. Pulido, Science Research Specialist II ng DOST Caraga.

Sa temang, “Innovative for Impact: Transforming Caraga’s Fishery, Agroforestry, Mining, and Ecotourism Economy through Science, Technology, and Innovation”, ang isang linggong pagdiriwang ng RSTW ay ginanap sa Robinsons Butuan City, Agusan Del Norte noong ika-6 hanggang 9 ng Hunyo 2024.

Ang forum na ito ay isa lamang sa mga inihandang aktibidad gaya ng patimpalak sa robotics at painting, KatHabi Fashion Show at ang paglalagda ng iba’t-ibang kasunduan para sa mga programa ng pagbabago.

Ayon kay Pulido, ang forum na ito ay nagbibigay ng natatanging pagkakataon para sa mga negosyo, mga ahensya ng gobyerno, at mga paaralan o institusyong pang akademiko na masaksihan ang transpormatibong produkto ng DOST.

Isa sa mga inobasyong ibinida ay ang Food on-the-road Innovation and Processing Facility (FoodtrIP) ng DOST-ITDI na naglalayong tugunan ang labis na produksyon ng pagkain sa ilang lugar sa bansa.

Ayon sa DOST-ITDI, ang proyekto ay isang Good Manufacturing Process (GMP)-compliant na nagbibigay-daan sa pagbuo ng mga bagong produktong mula sa mga gulay, prutas, at iba pang produktong pang agrikultura.

Ang proyektong ito na katatapos lamang ngayong taon ay nag-aalok ng tatlong modyul para sa iba’t-ibang seksyon ng pag po-proseso gaya ng frying module, drying module, at thermal processing module. Ito ay nakatakdang maglunsad ng ikaapat na modyul ngayong Hulyo, na kung tawagin ay aseptic.

Bukod sa FoodtrIP, ipinakita rin ng DOST-ITDI ang iba pang teknolohiyang binuo ng ahensya gaya ng Halal Cosmetics, Modular Multi-Industry Innovation MMIC), at Natural Fiber Thermoplastic Composites.

Samantala, ang iba pang teknolohiyang itinampok ay ang Additive Manufacturing or 3D printing mula sa DOST-MIRDC; Resilient Education, Information, and Infrastructure for the New Normal (REIIN), Meteorological Data Acquisition Station for Information Dissemination (MASID) and HR Lite technology na ibinida ng DOST-ASTI; Plant Foliar Fertilizer and the Radiated Engineered Hemostatic Agents mula sa DOST-PNRI; Ready-to-eat foods for Disaster Resiliency, AquaVac, Hoclomac, See You Doc Analytics, at CareGo Health Suite mula sa DOST-PCHRD; Hand Tractor Attachment, Impeller Rice Mill, Goat Feed Pelletizing Machine, LAMP kit for Swine Diseases, Protein Enriched Copra Meal at Ready-to-eat Chevon in pouches mula sa DOST-PCAARRD; the Flavors and Fragrances from the Forest Technology program (F3TP) at ng Silyang Pinoy technology upang bumuo at magdisenyo ng multifunction furniture mula sa DOST-FPRDI.
