Description:

In secondary schools, the library is a cornerstone for enhancing students' educational experiences, offering a space to develop crucial research and information literacy skills. However, the absence of professional librarians in many schools necessitates assigning school staff members to manage library operations. "Make Your Library Alive (MYLA): Basic Training for School Library In-Charge" is designed to equip these staff members with the essential skills and knowledge required to effectively manage school libraries. This training will cover key aspects of library management, including resource organization, Learning Management System and also promoting the library. By empowering library in-charge staff with the necessary skills and knowledge, we aim to create a more enriched and productive learning environment for students and further support the goals of education in secondary schools.

Course Objectives:

At the end of training, the participants should  be able to:

  • List and describe the different library resources.
  • Apply the Dewey Decimal System Classification for proper shelving of library resources.
  • Promote and market the library to the students, school non-teaching staff, and faculty members
  • Submit library usage reports periodically for monitoring

Library-in-Charge of school Libraries.
