The Department of Science and Technology (DOST) will celebrate the annual National Science and Technology Week (NSTW) from 25 to 29 July 2016, with the Philippine Council for Health Research and Development (PCHRD) leading the Metro Manila Health Science Community (MMHSC).
NSTW is held every July to give recognition to outstanding accomplishments and personalities in science and technology (S&T). Earlier celebrations focused on the eight outcomes of DOST in the areas of agriculture; micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs); industry; information technology - business process management (IT-BPM); e-government services; health; education; and climate change and disaster preparedness.

The Department of Science and Technology (DOST) opens its doors to the public as it leads the nation in celebrating the 2016 National Science and Technology Week (NSTW), dubbed as “Juan Science, One Nation” on 25-29 July.
For this year, NSTW will be celebrated simultaneously in all DOST regional offices aside from the four major science hubs in Bicutan, Taguig, Quezon City, Manila, and Los Baños, Laguna.

LUCENA CITY, Quezon, Philippines-- The locally-developed educational tool called STARBOOKS has gained much interest in the province of Quezon after it was first installed in the province in 2014. After its installation, various private and public schools in Quezon requestedthis knowledge product from the Department of Science and Technology ‘s Science and Technology Information Institute (DOST-STII), the developer of STARBOOKS.
STARBOOKS or the Science and Technology Academic Research-Based Openly Operated Kiosk Station is a library-in-a-box for students in the elementary, high school and college students, as well as researchers, all over the country. It is a unique educational software containing science and technology informationinstalled in ordinary desktop computers with monitor and housed in an attractive pod or kiosk.
