The National Academy of Science and Technology of the Philippines (NAST PHL), an advisory body of the Department of Science and Technology (DOST) proposes the formation of a National Commission for the Prevention and Control of Non-Communicable Diseases under the Office of the President.
The NAST proposal was announced by Academician Antonio Miguel L. Dans, UP Manila College of Medicine Professor and member of NAST’s health sciences division, during the presentation of NAST’s 37th Annual Scientific Meeting Resolutions last July 9, 2015 at Manila Hotel.

The Philippine Council for Agriculture, Aquatic and Natural Resources Research and Development of the Department of Science and Technology (DOST-PCAARRD), during the celebration of the National Science and Technology Week, will showcase its innovations in agriculture, aquatic and natural resourcesthat will raise the agri sector’s productivity to world-class standards.
PCAARRD will give the media a peep into said innovations at the 2015 NSTW Outcome One Press Conference on July 3, 9AM at Sulo Riviera Hotel, Diliman, Quezon City. The press conference, bearing the theme Strategic Industry Program for Agri-Aqua Growth (SIPAG) ni Juan, will focus on PCAARRD’s Industry Strategic S&T Plans (ISPs) on some agri-aqua-natural resources commodities such as banana, goat, Benham rise, mud crab, plant growth promoters, and abaca.
