The Department of Science and Technology (DOST) and the Civil Service Commission (CSC) conferred the Scientist I rank to Dr. Marilla G. Lucero, chief science research specialist at the Department of Health - Research Institute of Tropical Medicine during a ceremony last December 9, 2015 at the Acacia Hotel in Muntinlupa.

The conferment was made under the Scientific Career System (SCS) program.

Three local inventors recently received financial assistance from the Department of Science and Technology (DOST) through its Technology Application and Promotion Institute (TAPI), under the Invention-Based Enterprise Development (IBED) program of TAPI’s invention development division.

A Memorandum of Agreement orientation and signing, spearheaded by Atty. Marion Ivy Decena, TAPI’s invention development division manager, was held last December 3, 2015 at the TAPI Conference Room, DOST Complex, Bicutan, Taguig.

St. Dominic College of Asia in Bacoor, Cavite is the newest addition to the growing list of academic institutions now equipped with the first digital science library in the Philippines, the Science and Technology Academic and Research-Based Openly Operated Kiosks or STARBOOKS of the Department of Science and Technology (DOST).
