Over the years, the Department of Science and Technology - Science and Technology Information Institute (DOST-STII) has been providing capacity-building activities to students, media practitioners, academic researchers, and other professionals on various skills related to science communication. This is done through the implementation of the Science Journo Ako advocacy program.

Young students often perceive that science circulates in memorizing the formulas, solving the problems, understanding the theories, and familiarizing the periodic tables. This signifies that many of these young students are not aware that science also deals with communication.

Sa pagsisimula ng taong 2024, muling ipinaalala ng Department of Science and Technology o DOST ang importansya ng pagkakaroon ng synchronized timepieces o iisang oras lamang sa lahat ng relo at orasan sa buong Pilipinas.
