They are victims of the Marawi siege. They are professionals- mostly teachers. But they lost their homes, families, relatives and livelihood during the siege. They saw hope when Department of Science and Technology-Science Education Institute (DOST-SEI) granted them scholarships to pursue graduate studies at the Mindanao State University in Marawi (MSU-Marawi) and MSU Iligan Institute of Technology (MSU-IIT). During this COVID-19 crisis, they feel it’s their turn to give back.

With the spread of COVID-19 in the Philippines, the Department of Science and Technology Philippine Council for Industry, Energy and Emerging Technology Research and Development (DOST-PCIEERD) together with the Philippine Council for Health Research and Development (DOST-PCHRD) is looking for designs of ventilators and respirators to augment the health care system grapple with COVID-19 patients needing these medical devices.
